We review Yello hotel in Cebu City

Today we review Yello hotel in Cebu City.

Type "Yello hotel Cebu" into Google maps to find this place.

At the time of this review, they have ads for a standard double room for 1350 PHP, including a small buffet breakfast. We have paid between 1250 and 1800 PHP when we have been here (depending on the room and offer at the time via Agoda).

The hotel, rooms, hallways, and dining area always seem clean.

No safe or fridge in the rooms. I do not remember if the room has free coffee and a water boiler. I will update you with that information when I return there.

The internet works decently in parts of the hotel and poorly or not at all in other parts. The same goes for the internet via your mobile phone for Globe and Smart cards. Make sure you get a floor higher up for the best internet.

TV works well and has a decent selection of channels, including movie channels and Discovery.

The aircon is of a newer model and silent.

The bed is comfortable and gives a good night's sleep.

The shower has hot water and decent water pressure.

The staff responds and solves any issues you might have promptly.

Housekeeping on demand daily.

A small but good breakfast buffet is included in the price mentioned above.

They have a jacuzzi on the rooftop, but unfortunately, that is more annoying than enjoyable. The water is too cold for me to use myself. I have never seen any adult use it. The kids love it, though, and that is the problem. They use it like a small swimming pool, jumping and splashing. Not so fun when they sprinkle water on your costly restaurant meal or over your laptop. The staff and the parents just let them play wild, so if you eat, or have your computer, stay far away from the jacuzzi.

The price in the rooftop restaurant is too high both for the food they serve and for the beer and drinks. They aim to be a budget place, but the restaurant charges high-end prices and therefore crashes with the rest of the hotel's philosophy. The taste does not warrant the high-end prices on their food as you can have better food for less than half the price.

They have a small garden on the fifth floor, but I never visited it. Just saw it from my window.

They have several places to eat nearby—restaurants and cheaper solutions alike.

The nearest 7-11 is about a ten-minute walk.

Car parking on site.

Smoking area outside in front of the hotel.

Apart from the restaurant prices and the loud music usually played together with the breakfast buffet (who wants loud party music at 7 am?), this place is about as good as it gets for the price you pay. I will use this as one of my main places to stay in Cebu City when I am there.

Enjoy the video.
